Leslie Cook-Greene

Leslie Cook- Greene is a dedicated union activist known for her commitment to people, participation, and building a stronger labour movement. She brings a practical, member-focused approach to everything she does, grounded in the belief that a union is strongest when members are engaged, informed, and empowered.

Leslie is widely recognized as someone members can rely on. She is approachable, responsive, and always willing to take the time to support others. Her passion for facilitation and education has made her a respected voice in union spaces, where she focuses on helping members develop skills, build confidence, and take an active role in shaping their union.

A former Secretary of CUPE Local 4705, a large municipal local in Northern Ontario, Leslie played a key role in increasing member participation during her time in leadership. She helped strengthen engagement in strike actions and local events, contributing to a more active and connected membership.

Leslie continues to be active in her CUPE council and brings a strong voice to pension advocacy through her involvement with the OMERS Reference Group, where she works on campaigns to protect and strengthen members’ retirement security. She currently serves as a Member-at-Large on her executive board.

She is committed to strengthening the labour movement in Northern Ontario, advancing member-led organizing, and creating safer, more equitable spaces for women in the workplace and within the union.
